“Good Cuban in mid Mo!? Are you kidding me? Sooo good.”

What we cook

Home food, and plenty of it.

This is the cooking of our family. Roast pork, plantains, rice and beans, empanadas and tostones, and a few sauces that people go out of their way to mention afterwards.

Our dining room: a black and white checkerboard floor, painted Havana building fronts along the walls, palms and string lights

The room

You will know it when you see it.

The whole front of our building is painted: hibiscus, palm leaves and a macaw across the tin, with the turquoise window frames underneath. Inside there is a checkerboard floor, Havana house fronts along the walls, palms in the corners and string lights over the whole room.

People tell us it does not feel like Missouri once the door shuts behind them.

What people say

4.9 out of 5, from 304 reviews.

People drive over from Columbia for lunch. Some of them turned off the highway by mistake the first time. Here is a handful, in their own words.

Five stars on all levels. I had the Trio de Tostones. Three different meat toppings with complex garnishes and flavors on top of fried green plantains. My husband had the Picadillo (beef). Great Cuban flavors. If you enjoy a variety of international foods, this is a must visit.

The lechon asado was probably the best pork I've had in my entire life, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for the amount of food that you get. The atmosphere is fun and the staff were incredible.

Food here is delicious!!! We tried more than we should have ate and it was worth the money. Dip your fries in the pineapple rum sauce it will change your life.

The fricase de pollo is absolutely top notch. The chicken is so tender and flavorful. We also had the Cuban which was delightful. I'm a sucker for a good Cuban and the one here did not disappoint. Great food from great people.

Hands down the best restaurant in Missouri. Beautiful mural and atmosphere, incredibly nice and friendly staff, phenomenal food, and heavily poured yet delicious cocktails. Their liquor menu is so creative and delicious and has seasonal rotations.

This small restaurant on Main Street in Boonville is amazing! We love small, locally owned businesses and were pleasantly surprised that this cafe did not disappoint! The roasted shredded pork was just crazy good!

Our server was very attentive and had a such a fun loving personality! It made dinner very enjoyable. From one Cuban to another, the Fricase de Pollo was 'sabroso!' Thank you!

My husband and I stumbled upon this incredible restaurant while we were doing a grocery run at the nearby Walmart. We are in town from New York City for a short while working at a nearby theatre company, and were extremely impressed with the food here. This place is truly a gem.
